Thanksgiving Turkey Frame
Gather together all the supplies you will need:
Wooden Frame 9"X7"
Cardstock: Any Fall themed paper will do
Cardstock scraps: browns, red and yellow -OR-
Turkey die cut or other fall themed die cuts of your choice
Brown paper flowers or other decorations of your choice
2 small googly eyes
One large brad
Large and small pop dots
Glue or tape
scissors
Something to make small holes in paper
cutting mat
Exacto knife
needle
gold floss or color of your choice
brown seed beads size 6/0
Optional:
Cricut machine with doodlecharms cartridge
Instructions
First step: Using the tool and the mat, punch tiny holes inside the feathers of the turkey. The distance between holes isn't really important, just preference. Do this for each feather.
Second step:
Pull one piece of the gold floss from the strand and thread it through the needle. Tie a knot at the end of the floss. Push the needle up through the first hole from the back side of the turkey. (See Illus. A) Thread one bead onto the needle (Illus. B) and push the needle back down through the next hole. (Illus. C) Now push the needle back up through the next hole, thread another bead and then push the needle down through the previous hole (Illus. D) Continue doing this until all feathers are beaded.

Illus. C Illus. D
Third Step:
If you cut the turkey out using the cricut, now you need to attach the opposite color body. Attach the googly eyes
Fourth step:
Cover the front of the frame with craft glue.
Place the piece of fall paper over the entire front of the frame (covering the opening for the picture)
Fifth Step:
Allow the glue to dry completely. This is very important or the paper will tear when you are trying to cut out the frame window. Once the glue is dry, turn the frame over so you are looking at the back. Using an Exacto knife, cut along the edge of the inner frame. Make sure you get the corners cut so the paper doesn't tear when you take out the center piece of paper.
Sixth Step:
Attach the turkey to the left side of the frame using the large pop dots. I also added the word Gobble which I cut using my cricut. I inked the edges using red chalk. I put three flowers of various sizes together and held them together with a large brad. Feel free to add whatever accents that grab your fancy. Insert your picture and display!
